€3.5M for an investment line in Wallonia and another €2M for a mixed
line in Wallonia/Brussels: those are the amounts we have at our disposal to support
the film
The Wallimage Coproductions limited company
(formerly known as SOWALIM) is, together with the Wallimage
limited company, structured as an investment fund with the
aim of developing and supporting the audiovisual sector in
Wallonia and in Brussels. The fund was created and is financed
by the Walloon Region (Walloon investment line). Since 23
April 2009 it is also partially co-financed by the Brussels
Capital Region (mixed investment line).
This Fund acts according to a selective mechanism of conditional
participation in the financing of audiovisual work, presented
to her by independent production companies.
Wallimage analyses the submitted bids and
advises Wallimage Coproductions regarding
its investments in loans and in participation, on the principle
of the co-production.
The general philosophy of the Fund underwrites the perspective
of applying the principle of cultural diversity to the Europe
of the Regions. It consists indeed of generating a structuring
effect on the audiovisual industry in Wallonia and in Brussels
and this to benefit the entirety of European cinematographies.
Any type and format of cinematographic or television product,
susceptible of enriching the cultural patrimony of the countries
or regions that co-produce it, may be considered by Wallimage
with the exception of works which incite violence or racial
hatred, are liable to lead to public disorder or are contrary
to good moral practice.
Advertisements and information, entertainment, current affairs
or sports programmes will likewise not be considered.
