After having traveled to film events all over the world, from Namur to Sao Paulo, from Virton to Canada, Au Cul du Loup stopped last week at the 31st Amiens Festival. At the closing ceremony, presided over by Joe Dante(Gremlins) and Bertrand Tavernier(Coup de Torchon), the film received the Grand Prize of the Festival (Golden Unicorn) and the Audience Award! A very nice double hit.
The Grand Prize was awarded unanimously by a jury composed of Pierre-William Glenn (Chief Operator), Adelaïde Leroux (actress), Fejria Deliba (actress), Mima Fleurent (Distributor), Aline Pailler (Programmer, France Culture) and Édouard Waintrop (General Delegate of the Directors’ Fortnight). The reward? More than 30.000 euros of distribution and promotion aid! A very useful adjuvant in these strange times when it is becoming increasingly difficult to make your way onto commercial screens.
In Belgium, this national release will take place on January 25, 2012. Before that, Au Cul du Loup will be shown again at the Be Film Festival, on Monday December 19th at 7pm at Bozar.
