Tokyo Fiancée is a Belgian project brought to us by Versus: we will be pleased to see Stefan Liberski as director, adapting a novel by Amélie Nothomb with Pauline Étienne. Nice line-up, right? Pauline plays… Amélie who returns to the Japan where she was born and where she spent her early childhood. As soon as she arrived, she started giving private French lessons. The first student who shows up is Rinri. He is twenty years old, like her. He will become her lover. This exotic love story will be filmed in Japan, but also in the new studio of the Pôle Image de Liège, just after the Switch series, a studio that should therefore be running at full capacity in the coming months.
Love again, but this time in Germany before the First World War. A young man in the service of a wealthy boss falls under the spell of his young and attractive wife. This Journey into the Past written by Stefan Zweig has been adapted for the cinema by Patrice Lecomte and Jérome Tonnerre. It will be shot in English with a stunning cast: Alan Rickman (Harry Potter), Rebecca Hall (Vicky Christina Barcelona) and Richard Madden (Games of throne). And above all, it will be filmed in… Durbuy, Cras-Avernas, Liège, Malmedy, Verviers, Brussels, Binche and in a castle in the vicinity of Soignies where a large part of the shots will be taken. The shooting started on October 24th and will last 7 weeks. 32 days of the 35 days will take place in Wallonia. It is Scope Pictures that has succeeded in bringing such a prestigious production to our country.
The last project selected is always a story of the heart. But more fun. And a bit perverse. We follow the procrastination of Clémence, who is plagued by deep doubts about her fiancé (played by Olivier Marchal). As a result, the lady decides to call Darling Trap, an agency that will put on the road of her promised a redheaded fire. Agathe will have to test the resistance of her target in the enchanting scenery of the Reunion Island. Knowing that the sultry temptress will have the delicious features of Audrey Fleurot, the cynical lawyer of the series Engrenages, we can understand that Olivier Marchal and Zabou Breitman are not quite married yet. The shooting of Belle comme la femme d’un autre (great title, isn’t it?), Catherine Castel’s second feature film, co-produced by Iris Film, will start in December.
