Tokyo Fancée is a majority Belgian project, submitted by Versus: Stefan Liberski will be directing, adapting a novel by Amélie Nothomb with Pauline Étienne. An attractive line-up, in which Pauline plays Amélie, returning to Japan, the country where she was born and spent her early childhood. Almost immediately, she starts teaching private French classes. Her first student is Rinri, 20 years old like she is. Soon, he becomes her lover. This exotic love story will be filmed in Japan, but also in the new studios at the Pôle Image de Liège, right after the series Switch. The studio should, in other words, be running at full capacity for the next months.
Love always, but this time the setting is pre-World War I Germany. A young man falls in love with the young and alluring wife of his rich boss. Voyage dans le Passé, written by Stefan Zweig, has been translated to the cinema screen by Patrice Lecomte and Jérome Tonnerre. The screenplay will be filmed in English with a stunning cast: Alan Rickman (Harry Potter), Rebecca Hall (Vicky Cristina Barcelona) and Richard Madden (Games of Thrones). But more importantly, the shoot will take place in … Durbuy, Cras-Avernas, Liège, Malmedy, Verviers, Brussels, Binche and in a castle around Soignies where a large number of shots will be made. Filming started on 24th October and will take seven weeks. 32 out of 35 days are scheduled in Wallonia. Scope Pictures managed to bring this prestigious production to our country.
The last selected project also focuses on the matters of the hearth. But in a funnier way. A little perverted, as well. We follow the procrastinations of Clémence, who is seriously doubting her fiancé (played by Olivier Marchal). As a result of her doubts, she decides to hire Darling Trap, an agency which will send a feisty redhead to cross his path. Agathe will test if her target can resist her in the dreamy setting of the island of Réunioin. Knowing that this temptress will have the sumptuous features of Audrey Fleurot, the cynical lawyer from the series Engrenages, we understand that Olivier Marchal and Zabou Breitman aren’t married just yet. The shoot for Belle comme la femme d’un autre, Catherine Castel’s second film, co-produced by Iris Film, will start in December.
