The budget has been increased to 1.2 million euros this year. The Pôle images Nord-Pas-de-Calais has brought together its partners: the Regional Council, Lille Metropole, CCI Grand Hainaut, Centre national du Cinéma et de l’image animée, CRRAV and… Wallimage which, for the first time, has joined the operation.
The main objectives of this fund are to support innovation in the field of image-based interactive works and services, to accompany the production of prototypes or works, and to experiment and test new uses.
The projects were assessed on a range of criteria: their artistic quality, their originality and the potential for innovation that they represent. But also the reliability of the consortium and its ability to complete the project. The technical-economic, financial and legal feasibility of the project of course. And finally, the regional interest they embody, in terms of development and job creation. For more details, please consult the complete rules of the contest that you will find HERE
Thanks to the presence of Wallimage, the fund has crossed the border and three Walloon projects have been selected in this global context. The winners are:
Hors champ / BlackMoon is a show that mixes choreography, cinema, installation, technologies
Digital. It was conceived by the choreographer Michèle Noiret and the filmmaker Patric Jean. To enter this “reality fiction”, dance, body language, and the ambiguous presence of five dancers and a “man with a camera”, will take us on a labyrinthine journey, which could also be seen as a metaphor for a mental landscape: a film being constructed before our eyes.
The originality of the show is the simultaneity of the three levels of apprehension and the multiple interconnections between these three levels. This project is realized in partnership with Numédiart, University of Mons. He received a grant of €35,000
Proactive sound wall / THD and an anti-noise music wall is installed in a train station. Rather than trying to completely eliminate noise pollution, he gives users sounds that are derived from the sound material that is being hidden, rearranged in such a way as to create musical sound images that divert the public’s attention by the different perception they will have of the pollution thanks to these treatments. The sounds are emitted by an array of loudspeakers implanted in the wall, and the signals emitted by these loudspeakers are processed in order to make the wall acoustically directional. The directionality can be changed in real time depending on the position of the users (which is measured by the wall).
This project is also realized in partnership with Numédiart, University of Mons.
He received a grant of 35 000 € plus 10 000 € for the laboratory IEMN UVHC
The last project selected concerns the universe of Mamemo and was introduced by Belle Production. We all know the cartoon series Mamemo 2D. With Mamemo Tip Top ! children will learn to dance with Mamemo and his cow.
This project aims to extend the universe of Mamemo to make it a real place of participatory exchange for children. To develop playful dance lessons, based on movement recognition, for 4-6 year olds, to be used in front of Mamemo’s Live shows and then on connected TV.
Amount of aid: €30,000
This new collaboration between Wallonia and Northern France is part of a logic of cross-border interaction between funds with common objectives. An initiative that also allows our companies to access territories that they might not otherwise have had access to.
