Adapted from the book by Eliette Abecassis, A Happy Event breaks the taboos of motherhood through the tragicomic diary of a young woman who becomes a mother.
A Happy Event
Barbara and Nicolas have been living together for some time. They live in Paris, in the Marais district, they like to travel, ride motorcycles and lead a real single life without children. The birth of Lea turns their lives upside down. Barbara has the impression of being ugly, of not being able to do anything anymore, of not having any freedom. Nicolas comes home late because he works a lot and she reproaches him for not caring enough about Léa. Very quickly, life becomes a real hell and what was supposed to be a happy event turns into an ordeal.
