Dead Man Talking and Loulou, l'incroyable secret nominated for César Awards

  • 31.01.2014

Crowned last year with the Magritte for best set design and first film (awarded by the public), Dead Man Talking has won numerous audience awards at festivals around the world. In January, it was also nominated as best non-French French film at the Prix Lumières.

In the race for the César, the list of opponents is impressive to say the least: The Broken Circle Breakdown renamed Alabama Monroe in France will also represent Belgium, facing Blancanieves, Blue Jasmine, Django Unchained, La Grande Belezza and Gravity.

Wallimage also gets a second nomination. In the category “Best Animated Film”, Loulou, l’Incroyable Secret byÉric Omond, who was presented to you as the successor ofErnest and Celestine, follows in the footsteps of his illustrious model. Partly produced at Dreamwall Studios in Marcinelle, Loulou has a real chance to win in a trio where no blockbuster is the favorite.

Other Belgian satisfactions, Pauline Etienne is nominated as best female hope for her performance in The Nun and two of our greatest actors Olivier Gourmet and François Damiens are in the running for the Cesar for best supporting actor. The first for Suzanne, the second for Grand Central.

The event, which will be chaired by François Cluzet and presented by Cécile de France, will take place on February 28 at the Théâtre du Châtelet, in Paris
