The SACD prize at Cannes: Illegal!

  • 23.05.2010

Some films may not be in the official competition, but they are not immune to a good surprise. Thus, Illégal, presented at the Directors’ Fortnight, has just won the SACD (Société des Auteurs et Compositeurs Dramatiques) prize, the equivalent of our Sabam. The award, which is worth 4,000 euros, is given to a French-language feature film. Olivier Masset-Depasse wrote the script and directed the film. This film, produced by Versus and co-financed by Wallimage, which evokes illegal immigration, was a hit with critics and the public, who gave it a standing ovation lasting more than six minutes.
