MZM, Bamboo, Belga Films, Belga Films Fund Holding and Wallimage Entreprises join forces with founders Caroline van Iseghem, Ben Stassen and Eric Dillens to develop the nWave animation studios.

Founded in Brussels in 1994 by Caroline van Iseghem, Ben Stassen and Eric Dillens, nWave has become one of the world leaders in the production and distribution of stereoscopic (3D) content. Since 2006, he has also produced many remarkable animated films such as Fly me to the Moon, Sammy’s Journey, and BigFoot Junior, which have earned more than $300 million at the box office worldwide.

After 9 years with Studiocanal, the 3 founders went independent again in 2017, while launching the production of their new feature film “The Queen’s Corgi” directed by Ben Stassen and Vincent Kesteloot, which will be released in theaters worldwide in spring 2019.

Today, they have chosen to join forces with a pool of partners: MZM, Bamboo, Belga Films, Belga Films Fund Holding and Wallimage Entreprises. Matthieu Zeller becomes President of nWave Studios.

“We are delighted to become a shareholder in nWave, the flagship of Belgian animation, alongside the Belga group, with whom we have had close relations for many years,” says Virginie Nouvelle, director of Wallimage Entreprises. “In particular, we see it as an opportunity to give this reference studio a Walloon anchor.”
