In April, helped by Philippe Moins (Anima Festival Director – Belgium), René Broca (Consultant – France) and Jan Van Rijsselberghe (Creative Director Animator – Belgium), the specialists from all three funds selected six projects, each receiving the sum of €25,000 to develop the bible of their series and a provisional budget for their pilot.
Last week, helped by Catherine Alvaresse (Senior VP Sales & Coproductions @ Europe Image International – France), Philippe Jacot (Head of Coproductions @ EuroVision TV – Switzerland) and Per Nielsen (Script Doctor @ Brainstorm – Sweden), the 3 funds finally chose between the six projects selected during round one, picking three projects (one per region) which will receive a supplemental €125,000 to shoot their pilot.
The winners are:
– Bo’s Bazaar by Jan Bultheel, produced by Vivi Film, Nozon and Virtuo/ Art’fx
– Toc-Toc by Xavier Steenman, produced by Nexus Factory, Creative Conspirancy and Planetnemo
– Tuktulik by Fabienne Giezendanner, produced by Studio Redfrog, Araneo and Walking The Dog.
Within the framework of the next Anima festival, a professional meeting will be organised on 10 March, to publicly debrief with the three winners who will present the first stages of their work to the public present.
