To fight against the crisis, Wallimage innovates with an exceptional 100th session.

Since the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis, Wallimage has never stopped listening to all the cinema operators, especially in Wallonia. We took note of everyone’s requests and needs and then analyzed them in the light of our missions and specificities.

Anxious to support as much as possible this sector that it has created, structured and accompanied for 20 years, Wallimage S.A. has therefore decided to set up an exceptional action on the occasion of its 100th session.

During this anniversary session, which will be exceptional in every way, all the projects already selected by Wallimage in recent months and still in the process of being produced, will be able to obtain additional funding, within the limit of the ceiling set by our regulations, i.e. a total of 400,000 €/project.

Thus, any additional Walloon audiovisual expenditure, not announced in the initial file and not yet committed, can be financed by the fund at a rate of 2/3 of its amount (ratio of 150 % instead of the traditional 500 %).

These supplements will be granted on a selective basis (assessment of the quality of these additional expenses, comparison between all the proposed files, operators’ needs, etc.) and within the limits of the available resources.

The icing on the cake : this additional funding will not be counted in our revenue access calculation.

This strong and unprecedented measure is obviously intended to support the entire audiovisual sector by trying to maximize the work of all Walloon operators and technicians in this complicated period for all.

It goes without saying that this 100th session remains open to new projects, according to the usual rules. Wallimage will also remain attentive to the evolution of the situation during the last two sessions of the year.

Finally, note that this session, initially scheduled for June 12 , is advanced by one week to allow producers to actively participate in the virtual film market, organized by the Cannes Film Festival, which will be held from June 22 to 26 .

New applications will be due on June 5 at 5 . The virtual meeting with producers is scheduled for June 18 (possible extension to the 19th) while the Board of Directors meeting remains scheduled for Monday 6 July.

In the meantime, the co-production team will accompany all producers wishing to submit files in June and will discuss with the Walloon operators to better understand their current situation and their most pressing needs.

It is by putting our cards on the table, in solidarity, that we will all emerge from this crisis. At Wallimage, we are all intimately convinced of this !
