Illégal wins the Valois d'Or at Angoulême

Great news! Illégal, co-produced by Wallimage, won the Valois d’Or award for best film at the Angoulême Francophone Film Festival. The jury, chaired by Nathalie Baye, included Micheline Presle and Émilie Dequenne.

This is not the first award forOlivier Masset-Depasse ‘s new film, which has already won the SACD prize at the Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes. This humanist thriller is also one of the three finalists for the European Parliament’s Lux Prize and will therefore be screened during the next Venice Film Festival.

Since Cannes, Illegal has also been presented at the Munich and Palic (Serbia) festivals. It will soon be screened at the Gothenburg Film Festival and will open the International Francophone Film Festival of Namur on October 1st. He will compete for the Bayard d’Or.

In the meantime, Illégal will be released in Belgium on October 6th, distributed by O’Brother Distribution, the structure set up by his regular producers, the Bronckaert brothers (Versus).
