– Wallons métrages, both on television and in cinemas, will display the Walloon artistic creativity. In the cinemas this means eight advanced showings of La Véritable Histoire du Chat Botté, latest gem of Walloon stock.
– Ça c’est tourné près de chez vous will allow the masses to visit the shoot locations of films produced or co-produced in Wallonia, thanks to the exceptional opening of certain sites as well as a specific signalling in more than hundred places. One can, for example, visit the courtyard of the Château de Hergenrath in the Province of Liège which hosted Les enfants de Timpelbach and the Château de la Hulpe or still the auditorium of the Château de Cimay where large parts of Le Maître de Musique were filmed.
– Wallywood, organised by the Twist Cluster, gives the public an occasion to meet with ten Walloon companies of international fame which will exceptionally open their doors to let visitors discover the behind of the scenes.
– And finally Wallon ce Héros, a grand night in the middle of the weekend reserved for the film professionals. In the splendid décor of cinema Sauvenière in Liège, this evening will be an excellent occasion to mingle with the people who make the Walloon cinema. And Wallimage will, for the occasion, revive the Grand Prix for the Best Walloon Technicians! An award for the most promising young director in the form of services in the participating audiovisual companies for the making of a short film and of participation in the Clermont-Ferrand festival. This soon-to-be annual Prize will be named the “Rémy Belvaux Award” in honour of the author of “C’est arrive près de chez vous”.

Of course, no event of such stature can do without a renowned patron. Marie Gillain has accepted this responsibility here. A symbolic choice for a region which is not lacking in charm, talent or simplicity either…
See you on February 27th, 28th and on March 1st, in cinemas and outside. But always in Wallonia.
